Gdańsk citizen included in the “100 Kobiet Biznesu” ranking for the second time

2017-12-18

Danuta Kaszubowska - President of the AS-PL Management Board has once again been included in the group of 100 most enterprising women in Poland in the category of companies with sales revenues exceeding PLN 50 million.

"For several years, I have been observing the increase in female employment in the automotive industry. Women are more and more often appointed to managerial positions, which is pleasing. It turns out that we can easily make difficult decisions. We can negotiate hard. We successfully combine female sensitivity with decisiveness, refuting the stereotypes. I congratulate all the Women who were appreciated and included in the ranking. I wish you success in achieving the adopted strategies" says Danuta Kaszubowska.

Seventh edition of the ranking
Bisnode Polska, a credit bureau, and the editorial team of the Puls Biznesu daily carried out the “100 Kobiet Biznesu” ranking for the seventh time. 3.5 million business entities took part in the ranking. The Laureates were chosen in several stages. The first stage involved the selection of women who held the position of the president of the management board or were the owners of a company for a continuous period of two years. In the second stage, know-how and financial statements for the years 2016-15 available in the National Court Register or held by Bisnode Polska were taken into account. As emphasized by the organizers, some of the basic criteria were: the positive dynamics of sales and profit, a positive financial result, timely fulfilment of the obligation to publish financial data. Good repute was also an important factor. Diplomas for the ranking Laureates were presented during the “100 Kobiet Biznesu 2017” gala at the Grand Theatre – National Opera in Warsaw. Ewa Kozłowska, an expert in banking and finance at AS-PL Sp. z o.o., received the diploma on behalf of Danuta Kaszubowska.

"Despite the fact that it is said to be a male-dominated business, women work perfectly well in the automotive industry and occupy important positions. They work in factories in the production of vehicles, design new cars, provide services in mechanical workshops, and are drivers in domestic and international transport. Although still in the minority, they are among the industry employees – in recent years, there have been significant changes in this scope. Their number increases year by year. Not more than six years ago, women accounted for less than 30 per cent of automotive industry employees in Poland. Today, they account for nearly 35 per cent, whereas in the European Union, women’s occupancy of automotive industry positions has remained almost unchanged for years. According to Puls Biznesu, based on Eurostat data, in 2015 over 3.2 million persons worked in the industry, of which 25 per cent were women. In the same year, in our country, 255 thousand employees worked in the automotive industry, of which almost 90 thousand were women. This is 10 per cent more than the EU average. In Poland, every third person employed in the automotive industry is a woman, and in the EU – every fourth. More and more women apply for positions, but this phenomenon is characteristic mainly for Poland" informs Dr Henryka Bochniarz, member of the FCA Poland supervisory board.
